A Turning Inward Day

      At Maluhia Farm

I imagine you are probably wondering just exactly what is going to take place during Turning Inwards.  First, I should say that, understanding that nurturing means different things to different people, my quest is to meet those individual needs while being faithful to the idea that living in the moment allows for personal expansion and growth.  Mindful of that, along with believing that too much structure defeats the purpose of liberating the spirit, I have designed the day to have a few anchor points for the entire group, while allowing ample time for individual exploration/introspection.   You can expect the following group activities:

1.      Arrival time (approximately 9:30am), when members of the group will get to know one another, discuss each one's needs and expectations, and devise a plan for the day

2.     Midday meal (approximately noon), when whomever wishes can participate in a contemplative preparation of a nourishing and lovely lunch

3.      Wrap-up meeting prior to departure (approximately 3:30 pm), when participants will share their impressions of the day's activities

Of course, there will be many other activities offered, depending on the group and what is sought.  Meditation, breathing, guided visualizations, and different exercises to become more aware of nature are some of the options.   One of my favorite activities is working with questions; I love the space that it frees up inside oneself, thereby enabling more clarity of vision and creativity.   These questions will be designed to amplify the particular theme for each month.  Besides group activities, the house and surroundings offer ample opportunity and secluded areas if your preference is for more private introspection.

Again, my primary goal for the day is evidenced by its title:  Turning Inward.  It is my hope that your interlude in this beautiful, magical spot that is Maluhia Farm will serve as a springboard for you to come to a more focused minding of the powerful proverb, “Know Thyself.”  I am confident your day spent here will be a huge stepping stone in that direction!
